How to Make Dog Friendly Pancakes

Can dogs eat pancakes?

The simple answer is yes. If your dog doesn’t have a lactose or wheat intolerance and the pancakes are plain, your dog should be fine to eat them in moderation. However, human pancakes are often topped or filled with foods dogs should not eat. Some fruits, like grapes, are highly toxic to dogs and some of our favourite toppings like lemon juice or jam should also be avoided because of the high sugar content and potential for a stomach upset. And, of course, we all know that dogs should never eat chocolate, so this should also be avoided.

Are there dog friendly pancakes?

While you can feed your dog a small amount of your pancakes, we would suggest making their own dog friendly version. And as with any treats - make sure your dog doesn’t over-indulge. A small dog should only get a few bites of a pancake, while a large breed would be able to eat a whole pancake. Feeding too many pancakes can lead to an upset stomach and bloating.
